Heart of a champion

Believe it or not, the Pistons beat the Spurs in game 6! Oh yes! Larry Brown's bad boys spanked Popovich hard in Alamodome, a heroic 95-86 feat that send the series to the final Derby which will take place on 23th of June EDT. I was at first unaware of the game, thought that it was supposed to play on tomorrow (22th June EDT), but surprisingly perceived the news on Yahoo! Sports when I finally have time to dawdle a bit after a few interview sessions with candidates who apply for job vacancies in my department. I have not watched the game yet, but will definitely do so when the ESPN rebroadcast the game tomorrow (they would, wouldn't they?).

The reason behind my amazement of the result is, with the better team roster and home court advantage, and most importantly, the confidence of being able to smash the Pistons at home as they have done in game 1 and 2, I was firmly convinced that the Spurs had killed the Pistons already in Detroit when they won game 5 and come back to San Antonio with a 3-2 lead. Popovich himself was so sanguine that he decided to give a one-day break to the Spurs for relaxation before game 6. Well, it turns out that, we should never underestimate the heart of a champion. Especially the warriors as tough as the bad boys are. Don't get me wrong, I still believe the Spurs WILL win the rings, but this time, instead of 60-40, I would say that it is more like 52-48 now. Watch out for the Ginobili's revenge.
